Founded in Abidjan
Bitwisi Pay was born from a simple frustration: building a business in Africa meant dealing with dozens of incompatible payment systems across borders, currencies, and mobile networks.
Our founders experienced this first-hand while building their own products in West Africa. Integrating MTN, Orange Money, Wave, and card payments required multiple SDKs, separate contracts, and weeks of engineering time — just to accept payments.
We set out to fix this with a single, well-designed API that abstracts the complexity of African payments. Today, Bitwisi Pay powers thousands of businesses across 15+ countries, from solo developers to large enterprises.
